Do you know exactly how valuable it is to have a coordinator at your wedding, to orchestrate all the details of your wedding day? Do you know that with a coordinator, all you really have to worry about, really; is showing up and looking your gorgeous self, as always!
Sometimes I feel as though wedding coordinators are under appreciated; or maybe it’s because brides don’t exactly know how valuable their services really are! Then, there are other brides that feel that the vendor category of coordinator can be skimmed over, for the sake of saving money. It’s great to save, but it’s better to add this important and very valuable vendor into your wedding budget. Wedding Coordinators can be a bride’s best friend because they:
Create a very extensive day of timeline: Every single thing that happens on wedding day is on the timeline: what’s going on, the time and the place. A good coordinator will keep you on schedule and get you back on schedule, if you happen to fall behind. Going over your time can actually cost you more money than you anticipated. Some venues and even vendors start charging more, if you go over your contracted time. That’s not something you want to worry about on your special day.
Act as point of contact and supervise vendors: Because we already discussed every last detail and I know exactly what you want and expect, It’s my job to make sure the vendors arrive on time, put up the correct decor and deliver what they are contracted to give. I also talk to the chef, to make sure vegetarians get their special meals and the DJ has correct wording for your grand introduction!
Get you drinks!: This is a really fun thing I like to do! After you’re introduced and you’re seated at your sweetheart table, I like to bring you your favorite drinks; to get the party started!
Put out favors and wedding decor: I make sure all the favors are placed, menu cards are at each place setting, programs get handed out, your toasting flutes are on the cake table, a lighter or two is ready for the unity candle, and all the other small, yet very important details, are out, in their right positions and ready to be photographed!
Pack up Gifts and Leftovers: I make sure all gifts are tucked away in a safe place and pack them in the getaway car. I also pack all leftover favors, decor items, cake servers and make sure the designated person takes them home.
Make sure you have fun!: At the end of the night, you’ll be tired; but not because you were running around worrying about twenty different things at once, but you’ll be tired because you danced, laughed until your insides hurt, hugged just about every guest, kissed when they rang bells and smiled for countless pictures!
There are so, so many more things that my job entails on wedding day and these are just a few. I hope it will give you some insight into why it’s so important and a valuable cost to include in your budget. Wedding coordinators truly are a bride’s best friend and I hope you’ll find that best friend for your wedding! When you do, you’ll know you’re in good hands and your wedding day will be, not only classy, but a whole lot of fun!
