As you know, I’m a wedding planner, but do you know why I love what I do? Today I want to share that with you and how it came to be!
I still remember the first time a bride came up to me and told me, “You made all my dreams come true!†I was only a teenager at the time and I was still trying to pin point what I wanted my career to be. My heart was just beginning to lean toward the new creative world of weddings, that I had just recently discovered! I learned I could actually make a career out of making someone’s dream a reality and have a hand in a memory that they would remember for a lifetime! I’ve always had a wild and creative imagination and I loved seeing all the pretty little details of an event come together to create a truly classy look!Â
Before then, I didn’t even know a job planning weddings even existed. I learned that this, along with other event, restaurant, and hotel jobs were classified as hospitality jobs. It peaked my interest that a hospitality major was actually a real college major. I had so much fun that I finally, after two years debating what I wanted to do, started attending Gwinnett Technical College with a major in hospitality! I absorbed so much knowledge and I enjoyed the field even more. I then went onto transfer with the same major at Georgia State University.
It’s been four years that I’ve been out of school and after working as a banquet manager, wedding director, event assistant, floral assistant, banquet server and having a quick stint designing, making and selling ring bearer pillows on Etsy, I decided in 2013, to venture out on my own and make my dream of becoming an entrepreneur, with my own wedding planning business, happen!
In the years since I discovered this passion of mine, I still enjoy this classy little world of weddings and special occasions! It’s my job to make people feel taken care of, filled with joy, happiness, laughter and to make them feel special! This is what fires my heart up and makes me happy! I hope I can have the opportunity to do the same for you!
